About Legal Information Services
Legal Information Services has served the legal and law library communities since 1978. Legal Information Services provides outsourced library services to a variety of organizations. We also publish both practical and reference titles for the legal and library communities. Established in the Boston area, the company relocated to North Carolina in 1999, and then to south Florida in 2022.
The company’s founder and principal, Elyse H. Fox, has worked as a law librarian and law library consultant for forty years. Ms. Fox has public services and technical services experience in academic, law firm, corporate, and membership law libraries. She has spoken frequently at annual meeting programs of the American Association of Law Libraries and its chapters, and also presented an all-day workshop at the Canadian Association of Law Libraries Annual Meeting on “Personnel and Staffing in the Law Library”. Ms. Fox writes and publishes extensively on law librarianship and legal research topics.
Prior to working as a law librarian, Ms. Fox practiced law in the private and public sectors in Chicago and Boston. She has taught both manual and online legal research to law students.
Ms. Fox received her B.A. in 1972 from the University of Michigan (Honors and Distinction in Linguistics), her J.D. in 1975 from the University of Michigan Law School, and her M.S.L.S. in 1981 from Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
